Week 5 Results

Details:

- This is a SMALL closet - not one of these luxurious walk-in deals. You know, about 3 feet long and 3 feet wide, but high enough to stand in. And the door is locked tight. And there are no slats in the door or anything like that, or any other spaces that the roaches could escape through. Nothing can enter or leave the closet.

- To further enhance the experience the closet is pretty dark. Not so dark that you can't see the form of the skunk or roaches moving around, but pretty dark.

- With this week's question, neither can really kill you - the idea is that both are pretty unpleasant.

Comments: I think I can stand the smell longer than I can stand 100 roaches crawling all over me. Even thinking about it gives me the creeps. Thanks Kevin, now I will be thinking that roaches are crawling over me all day.

Comments: well, had to think hard here. i chose the skunk because sure, i may stink IF IT SPRAYS ME. but if not, than its all good. the roaches on the other hand...i just started thinking about them crawling around and over your feet and who knows where they would end up. and its not like they are the easiest bug to crush either.

Comments: Of course I'd rather be trapped with a skunk. I'll give you three reasons why we are so alike. 1)He thinks he stinks! 2)We both hate exactly 100 roaches (99 are tolerable), and 3)Stripes.

Comments: Skunks don't just automatically spray people. They have to feel threatened in some way. While I'm no expert on the subject, I think I could deal with the skunk. Roaches, on the other hand, are "creepy, creepy, creepy!" They make my skin crawl just thinking about them. Speaking of skin crawling, I could not handle being locked in a closet with the subjects of an X-Files episode--especially a very disturbing X-Files epsiode!

Comments: obviously the darkness would lull the skunk to sleep and you ca always breathe in through your shirt if it stiks...but you can curl up in a corner and not move and the skunk wont do anything!!!

Comments: If I wanted to be stuck in a 3 by 3 room with 100 roaches I would go over to the quads. Plus skunks are kind of cute.

Comments: Living in the Stone (Johnstone that is) last year really prepares you for something like that...and soon the roaches become less disagreeable until you find yourself naming them and feeding them by hand and even carrying on conversations with them.

Comments: I had to think awhile on this one, and maybe later I'll change my mind, but I think I'm going to have to go with the skunk. Hopefully if I hold still he won't spray and in any event if he does I'll just stay out of everyone's way for a couple days. The roaches would just be way too freaky.

Comments: i feel i would choose the roaches because a.)skunks smell bad b) roaches are non-lethal..... skunks are known to be mean and attack people and animals soi wouldnt want to be around the skunk and besides roaches are superior creatures what other animal do you know that can survive radiation from anuclear explosion well DUH !

Comments: Well, because it IS just one skunk, and only POTENTIALLY unpleasant if you don't watch yourself... But just think about all those roaches, I bet you could hear them making slithery noises as they moved around, and even if you did a little dance to keep them from crawling up on you, they'd still be crawling up the walls of the closet, and on the ceiling, and dropping on your head... It's just too unpleasant. Of course, Michelle Kelly does know her skunks, so her opinion is probably well-founded...
